Before I shuffle off this mortal coil and my mostly lifeless body is shot into space in a touching memorial, there are some things I want to accomplish. Behold, my geek bucket list!
1. Be an extra on Doctor Who: I don’t live in England and I don’t have a British accent, but I can run screaming with the best of them. And then die happy, preferably in a Dalek attack.
2. Be an alien extra: I’ve done the 4 a.m. makeup thing, but only as the makeup artist. Just once, I want to be the one with fangs and green skin, you know? Plus, then I can introduce myself as “spiky alien number 3.”
3. Meet Martin Freeman: Here’s why: Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Love Actually, Sherlock, and The Hobbit. *happy fan*
4. Visit the Smithsonian: Nineteen museums, nine research centers, a zoo, and a gift shop. If they had apartments, I’d move in.
5. Cosplay at Comic-Con: Just going to SDCC would be amazing, but as long as I’m there…cosplay! It’s all my favorite things and people in one place, and I would get to wear awesome wigs.
6. Revisit Tokyo: Akihabara, Harajuku, and all the subway stops in between! Amazing tech, awesome (goth-loli!) individuals, and a serious dedication to coffee. No, really, while in Tokyo, you’re guaranteed to be in sight of at least one Starbucks or Starbucks knock-off.
6. Find my own Captain Mal: What can I say? I like sarcasm in a handsome face.
I just might have to live forever.
